Regional Giveback Leaders Aim to Raise $21,000 in 2021 for Nashville Residents and Businesses in Need

Nashville, Tenn. – March 16, 2021 – Bernstein Private Wealth Management (Bernstein), a unit of AllianceBernstein L.P. (AB), and Nashville Tech Gives Back, a community of tech leaders, investors, and ecosystem partners who understand that their impact goes beyond the office, announced today that their one-week charity drive raised over $10,000 and donated approximately 500 items directly to local community organizations. Over 40 tech leaders and executives across Nashville participated in this inaugural #615TechDrive in support of 15 local nonprofits, organized by Nashville Tech Gives Back co-hosts Build In SE and Nashville Entrepreneur Week.

Looking ahead, the group also announced today their broader goal to raise $21,000 in 2021 for Nashville residents and businesses in need. Through a series of charity drives and VIP receptions throughout the year, Bernstein and Nashville Tech Gives Back are working to empower and engage technology entrepreneurs and business owners within the local community and connect them to charities and nonprofits.

“Creating touch points for networking through a shared interest in supporting our local neighbors fuels a deeper relationship with Nashville and within the tech space that will help further accelerate the growth in our community,” said Winston Justice, Vice President at Bernstein Private Wealth Management in Nashville.

“As long as AB and Bernstein have been in Nashville, we’ve been committed to engaging and sharing with our neighbors. When we were approached by Nashville Tech Gives Back to support their charitable initiative, we were thrilled about the opportunity to connect nonprofits with donors who were not only willing to open their checkbooks, but also sincerely interested in giving their time to the community through volunteering and mentorship,” added Adam Sansiveri, Managing Director at Bernstein Private Wealth Management in Nashville.

As part of the giveback initiative, Bernstein and Nashville Tech Gives Back worked to create an easy-to-use Donor Guide which provided a seamless user experience for those looking to support local causes to gain access to details and information about the participating nonprofits and how to contribute. Current nonprofit partners include: the Adventure Science Center, Conexión Américas, Corner to Corner, Nashville Community Fridge, Nashville Rescue Mission, Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, National Museum of African American Music, Poverty and the Arts, Room in the Inn, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, Tennessee Action for Hospitality, The Nashville Food Project, Tennessee Performing Arts Center, United Way of Greater Nashville, and the YMCA.

“In the last year, Nashville has faced major challenges—the March tornado, COVID-19 closures, and the Christmas Day bombing—that have resulted in lost homes, businesses, and essential resources. Nonprofits are the most efficient way to connect the Nashville technology community to visible and invisible victims for Nashville,” said Elizabeth Duffield and Monique Villa, Co-founders of Nashville Tech Gives Back. “In 2021, we’re committed to giving the tech community the gift of giving back. The success we have had to date and our broader goals for the year only help us to further our mission of supporting the organizations who are providing critical services to our city while building a connected and collaborative community of startup founders, investors, and ecosystem partners.”
