We’re excited to welcome Healthcare Value Analytics as our newest member. To tell us more about the organization, we spoke to Kyle Duke, Chief Operating Officer for Healthcare Value Analytics.

What is the Mission of Healthcare Value Analytics?

Helping physicians deliver high quality care with a focus on value.

What solutions does Healthcare Value Analytics provide its customers?

The HVA ValueBar resides in the frame of the EMR’s web browser. Using a color-coded system, the bar informs the physician in real-time about how the cost of the care elements ordered for a patient compares to the average cost for other patients with the same diagnosis being treated by a community of care givers. HVA can use either physician or hospital-specific data to drive the bar’s movement. The bar moves in real-time as each order is entered.

What kinds of services does Healthcare Value Analytics offer?

Helping physicians deliver high quality care with a focus on value. HVA’s ValueBar helps the physician track a patient’s cost of care in real-time and benchmarks it against the average cost for similar diagnoses. The ValueBar is Intuitive, easy-to-access tool that brings unprecedented insight into the value of care. It compares the current cost of a patient’s care against a benchmark derived from historical data from treating patients with similar diagnoses. While HVA’s tool provides information about relative value, the final call on the care regimen remains in the hands of the physician and the patient—where it should be.

What is the primary reason your organization decided to join the NTC?

Nashville has a healthy, thriving technology ecosystem that has been fostered by the NTC over many years. HVA strives to be an active participant in the Nashville technology community and being a member of the NTC enables us to be more connected and active.

What fun facts would you like to share about Healthcare Value Analytics?

HVA was founded by a physician in Lufkin, TX. The company relocated to Nashville because of the strong technology and healthcare communities that exist here in Middle Tennessee.
