Middle Tennessee Tech Councils to Unite to Share Resources

The Murfreesboro Technology Council (MTC) Board of Directors recently voted to become part of the Greater Nashville Technology Council (NTC). The new partnership will provide the MTC an opportunity to leverage the NTC platform and resources to further their work in representing the tech sector in the Murfreesboro region.

“Murfreesboro is a key part of Middle Tennessee’s economy and the MTC has done an incredible job of representing and connecting the Murfreesboro tech community.” said, Brian Moyer, President and CEO of the Greater Nashville Technology Council. “It is important to us that the MTC retain their branding to continue to represent the Murfreesboro tech sector.  Our team looks forward to supporting the MTC’s committee and helping them to accelerate and amplify their efforts.”

The MTC was founded as a non-profit entity in 2017 by Jon Hoscheit, Matt Haese, and Chad Mullis, with the mission to bring technology awareness to Murfreesboro through education, small business technology adoption, and elevating Murfreesboro to being Tennessee’s premiere technology hub for business and jobs.

“Partnering with the Greater Nashville Technology Council makes a lot of sense as it will allow us to be more efficient and expansive in our support of the Murfreesboro tech community,” said Jon Hoscheit, Executive Director of the MTC.

“The Murfreesboro Technology Council will continue to bring technology awareness and training to the city,” explained Mary Mayfield, member of the MTC Board of Directors. “Joining a like-minded organization such as the Greater Nashville Tech Council will bring valuable support and better brand-growing power. MTC programming and networking events will continue.”

Under the terms of the agreement, the MTC will dissolve their non-profit entity and operate as a Peer Group of the NTC.  The former MTC Board of Directors (Chad Mullis, Matt Haese, Ryan Horony, Mary Mayfield, Kenneth Jackson, Michelle Price, James Cotter and Jon Hoscheit), along with one NTC staff member will serve as an Advisory Committee for the MTC Peer Group.  This committee will direct all MTC and Murfreesboro efforts. Jon Hoscheit, Co-Founder and former MTC Board Member will join the NTC Board of Directors.
