NTC Donates to GeekCause to Help Local Nonprofits with Tech Needs

On October 15, 2019, the Greater Nashville Technology Council presented a check to GeekCause in support of its mission to help address the technology needs of Middle Tennessee nonprofit organizations. The Greater Nashville IT Summit Advisory Committee chose the GeekCause organization for the $5,000 contribution, accumulated from the proceeds from the 2019 Greater Nashville IT Summit held last week with almost 300 in attendance.

GeekCause was founded in 2017 by JJ Rosen and Atiba, a Nashville-based technology consulting firm, as a way for their employees to lend their skills to local nonprofits.   When the number of volunteers approached 130, Atiba saw an opportunity to expand the program’s reach through a partnership with Hands On Nashville.  Today, the GeekCause projects and volunteers are coordinated through Hands On Nashville, with generous help from the Frist Foundation.

Molly Arena, Development Manager for Hands on Nashville and JJ Rosen received the contribution on behalf of GeekCause’s Director of Skilled Volunteer Engagement, Monica Weiss-Sharp at the close of the IT Summit last Tuesday.
