VELOCITY ACCELERATOR DUO TO MAKE APPEARANCE ON A&E’S ‘ROOSTER & BUTCH,’ HOST MOVIE THEMED WATCH PARTY
Kerry Schrader and Ashlee Ammons, founders of the networking app, Mixtroz, will appear on A+E Television’s popular pitch show, ‘Rooster & Butch.’ The mother-daughter duo, who are participating in Innovation Depot’s Velocity Accelerator, will host a movie themed watch party from 8:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, at the Innovation Depot. ‘Rooster & Butch’ airs at 9 p.m. CST/ 10 p.m. EST on Wednesdays on the A+E Television Network.
BIRMINGHAM (February 7, 2018) – Kerry Schrader and Ashlee Ammons know a thing or two about how to make a deal. The dynamic mother-daughter duo made one of their biggest gambles yet nearly three years ago when the pair decided to walk away from their lucrative corporate jobs in human resources and event production, respectively, to dive head first into the tech space to develop their app: Mixtroz.
Now, multiple pitch competitions, rounds of early stage funding, and explosive media mentions later, Kerry and Ashlee are successfully helping businesses and brands ‘say hello’ through their innovative mobile based application. Next month, the pair will greet national audiences with their appearance on A+E’s popular pitch show, ‘Rooster & Butch.’
To celebrate its national television debut, Mixtroz and its founders will host a movie-themed watch party. The watch party will be held from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, at the Innovation Depot, located at 1500 First Avenue North in Birmingham. ‘Rooster & Butch’ airs at 9 p.m. CST/ 10 p.m. EST on Wednesdays on the A+E Television Network.
‘Rooster & Butch’ follows self-made millionaires, Mike “Rooster” McConaughey and Butch Gilliam, as they look for ambitious entrepreneurs to spread their wealth. Along with their buddy, Gil Prather, these larger-than-life personalities have been wheelin’ and dealin’ for years and are eager to find the biggest and boldest investment opportunity. Living life by the “Golden Rule,” Rooster and Butch are eager to help other folks get a leg up the same way others helped them along the way. The show is unlike others as a pretty balance sheet won’t necessarily garner an outpouring of investment. These good old boys will only throw their money down after they’ve tested the true measure of an entrepreneur’s character. For them, it’s integrity first; idea second.

Mixtroz helps large groups of people eliminate the forced awkwardness that comes along with networking. The app helps people easily connect and engage with one another, all while helping the event host learn more about them based on the responses to customized questions. At a predetermined time, the app simultaneously matches attendees with 2-9 others with similar responses and guides them to those persons for a curated group networking experience in real time.
The app company is based in Nashville. The founders are in Birmingham to participate in the Innovation Depot’s Velocity Accelerator. The 12-week program is designed to help tech startups quickly scale their businesses through seed funding, investor and mentor connections, and other perks.
Will Kerry and Ashlee strike a deal to catapult Mixtroz to universal success? Tune in to the show at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21 on A+E to find out.
The media and the public are invited to attend the watch party. Members of the public may purchase tickets to the watch party at mixtrozbham.eventbrite.com. Members of the media may send their RSVP to Rochelle Smith of DENOR Brands + Public Relations via e-mail rochelle@denorbrands.com.
