Teacher’s Tech on Tap
Written by: Alex Curtis | Posted Apr 14, 2016

3The Nashville Technology Council recently hosted our first Teacher’s Tech on Tap, a peer mentoring/networking event for teachers in the area. Our goal was to bring together teachers, policy makers and anyone interested in technology to share resources, industry perspectives & best practices. We were delighted to see teachers from MNPS, Franklin Special, WCS, Pleasant View Christian, and several from area charter & private schools. We also had a chance to visit with State Representative Mike Sparks, as well as representatives from Golden Spiral, Sizzle, Score Publishing and Cisco.

Each presented a “lightning talk” where they shared personal resources and practices used. Topics ranged from creating online magazines, iBooks, favorite Twitter chats, upcoming events, Raspberry Pi’s and more. It was a great experience connecting individuals in the community to share personal resources with one another, giving everyone a chance to learn something new while enjoying refreshments on a Friday afternoon.

If you are a teacher or someone who’s interested in tech and want to know more about what others in the industry are doing, join us for our next Teacher’s Tech on Tap on May 6 where we will create a slack channel for teachers, as well as discuss computer resource ideas.

Thanks to all who attended!
