The Nashville Technology Council recently hosted our first Teacher’s Tech on Tap, a peer mentoring/networking event for teachers in the area. Our goal was to bring together teachers, policy makers and anyone interested in technology to share resources, industry perspectives & best practices. We were delighted to see teachers from MNPS, Franklin Special, WCS, Pleasant View Christian, and several from area charter & private schools. We also had a chance to visit with State Representative Mike Sparks, as well as representatives from Golden Spiral, Sizzle, Score Publishing and Cisco.

Each presented a “lightning talk” where they shared personal resources and practices used. Topics ranged from creating online magazines, iBooks, favorite Twitter chats, upcoming events, Raspberry Pi’s and more. It was a great experience connecting individuals in the community to share personal resources with one another, giving everyone a chance to learn something new while enjoying refreshments on a Friday afternoon.
