The Nashville Analytics Summit was created in 2013 by Nashville Technology Council members. With 488% growth since inception, the Summit continues to expand as one of Nashville’s largest, locally grown tech events in the region. It focuses on fundamental issues in organizations today: how to effectively leverage big data and analytics. The Summit will be hosted August 20-21 at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Nashville. 

 

 

On May 25, 2018, the EU enacted new rules on privacy and protecting the user data of individuals in Europe’s Economic Area. These rules are generally referred to as the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR.

There are numerous new requirements that organizations doing business in Europe must comply with, including protecting users’ personally identifiable information by default, storing user information in ways that cannot be identified to a specific user, and not making data public without explicit consent. Under GDPR, users have rights to request portable copies of the collected data and in some cases to have it erased.

GDPR has been in the law of Europe for a month, yet many organizations are struggling to understand the law, if and how they need to comply, and how to move forward.

Join us for a closed door session for NTC members only to discuss this important legal compliance issue. Hear and learn from experts – there are no silly questions! This program serves to provide an atmosphere where you can feel at ease among peers.

Band of Coders is a global software development company headquartered in North Atlanta with offices in Seattle, Milwaukee, Austin, Guelph (Toronto), Waterloo, and Buenos Aires (Argentina), and looking for the right candidate to open and manage an office in Nashville.

Band of Coders will be hosting a Happy Hour on Tuesday, June 26th for those who are interested in exploring this opportunity. Their CEO, Bobby John (LinkedIn), will be the speaker at the event. Together you’ll discuss BoC’s vision, answer questions, and simply get to know one another.
