NASHVILLE, TN — Several members of the KraftCPAs and Kraft Healthcare Consulting teams have been designated as Certified HIPAA Compliance Officers (CHCO).

Each person received the designation after completing the extensive HIPAA Privacy & Security Officer Course, which concluded with a 100-question, three-hour examination that focused on acronyms and terms, privacy issues, and security issues.

The exam is available only to those who have five or more years of compliance experience. Those who complete the exam and receive CHCO certification are recognized as trained and compliant in all aspects of regulations regarding HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act signed into law in 1996. HIPAA was designed as a form of incremental healthcare reform by simplifying administrative processes and improving the privacy of security and patient health information.

The Kraft representatives who received CHCO certification are Alisa Howard, Scott Nalley, Gina Pruitt, and Mike Wilson of KraftCPAs; and Brittney McClafferty, Scott Mertie, Katie Reid, and Stacey Stuhrenberg of affiliate Kraft Healthcare Consulting.

“We’re proud of these individuals for their hard work that led to this valuable designation,” KraftCPAs chief manager Vic Alexander said. “This is yet another opportunity for our team to learn, grow, and explore new ways to serve our clients.”
