NASHVILLE TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL GROWS WITH NEW STAFF
Council Improves Capacity for More Tech Community Services

NASHVILLE – The Nashville Technology Council is enhancing its ability to serve the Greater Nashville tech community.

To better address the needs of NTC’s 425+ members and the region’s growing tech community, the NTC is introducing new NTC team members. These new positions will help the organization better engage members, build organizational capacity, and manage its Apprenti Tennessee workforce development program. New team members include:

Heather Patchett
Vice President of Corporate Outreach

Heather Patchett joined the NTC in June 2108 as the Vice President of Corporate Outreach. In addition to her focus on building the membership of the Technology Council, Heather works to secure hiring partners and support for Apprenti Tennessee, the premier technology training and registered apprenticeship program that is the first of its kind in the Southeast.

Heather received her BA in Political Science from the University of the South at Sewanee and a MA in Adult Education from Alaska Pacific University. She spent many years in higher education fundraising at institutions that include Vanderbilt and Sewanee. She served as Vice President for Advancement at Converse College, Spartanburg, SC, and most recently at Tusculum University, Greeneville, TN.

Kevin Harris
Apprenti Tennessee Program Manager

Dr. Kevin Harris is the Apprenti TN Program Manager. Apprenti TN is the first technology-focused apprenticeship program in Tennessee. His work is focused on assisting the tech industry to fill mid-tier jobs with highly competent people regardless of educational backgrounds through apprenticeships while actively recruiting veterans, women and minorities to aid in diversifying the tech industry.

Kevin has a career that encompasses diverse experiences both in information technology and academia. He has served in various information technology roles ranging from system analyst to chief information officer. Dr. Harris also served students at diverse types of academic institutions. During this time he held positions including faculty, program coordinator, grant administrator, program director and campus director. His research and passion are in the areas of cybersecurity and bridging the digital divide especially among underserved populations.

Kevin resides in Nashville with his wife. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Lincoln University in Missouri; his Master of Science degree in Computer Management Information Systems from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville; and his Doctorate of Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems from Argosy University.

Lauren Henslee
Facilities Coordinator

Lauren Henslee is the Nashville Technology Council’s Facilities Coordinator, where she is responsible for organizing all on-site events at the Council’s state-of-the-art building, Tech Hill Commons.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Lauren moved to Nashville in 2012. Her passion for customer service and her experience in event management led her to the NTC where she is excited help foster the tech and entrepreneur communities in her adopted hometown of Nashville. Lauren graduated from Pepperdine University with a BA in Spanish Language and Literature in 2008.

Dominique Butts
Events Coordinator

Dominique Butts is the Nashville Technology Council’s Events Coordinator where she assist in the planning and execution of the NTC’s more than 80 annual programs and events.

Before joining the NTC, Dominique worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a site based specialist, where she matched elementary students to high school mentors. She received her BS in Organizational Communication from Middle Tennessee State University and is currently pursuing her MBA from Liberty University.

Additionally, the following NTC team members take on new roles and responsibilities, including: Alex Curtis to VP of Public Affairs & Communications, Jacqui Logan to Director of Programs and Events, and Erin Whitaker to Member Services Manager.

“A recent study showed that Greater Nashville is leading in tech industry growth across the nation,” said Moyer. “NTC’s team – now up to nine – is up to the challenge to provide more value to our growing tech community.”
