Asurion, the global tech care company, today announced the promotion of Daniel Curling to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO).

As CIO, Curling oversees a team of more than 900 employees who are responsible for Asurion’s core technology operations and security behind Asurion’s tech care products which help make people’s lives easier by unlocking the potential of their technology through delightfully simple, actually helpful support and guidance.

He will report directly to Asurion Chief Operating Officer (COO) Barry Vandevier.

“Since joining Asurion in 2014, Daniel has proven himself to be a change agent and a thought leader,” Vandevier said. “His experience as both an innovator and a leader at Asurion will serve us well as we continue to advance our capabilities and empower our team members who are supporting our customers.”

Curling is a 5-year veteran of Asurion where he has been responsible for the company’s Enterprise Technology Services. Before joining Asurion, Daniel spent nearly 10 years in senior leadership roles at Sabre Hospitality Solutions and Travelocity, where his accomplishments included delivering major platform and software upgrades, cloud migrations, and streamlining organizations and improving operations performance.

Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in MIS from Texas A&M University and attended the Darden Leadership for Extraordinary Performance program at the University of Virginia.
